Last week I got back from the best week of my entire life, on a road trip of a lifetime with Heidi Klein. I went with other bloggers who were all absolute angels and truly had the best week ever!
I had never been to California, so I could not have been more excited to get to explore 4 incredible destinations within. We flew with Air New Zealand which was utter comfort. I hate flying, but I was comfortable and relaxed for once which definitely started the trip on a high.
When we landed in LAX we drove to San Diego where we stayed in the iconic Hotel Del Coronado. After a dreamy night’s sleep but having woken up early from jet lag, we all did a 7am spin class on the beach which was stunning and the perfect start to our trip. Having the opportunity to kayak in the sea in La Jolla in the afternoon was incredible. There are seals and sea lions in the sea with you and covering the beaches. It’s something that I will never forget! We also went to Galaxy Taco where I had the most delicious tacos. It’s safe to say that Californian food is exceptional.
The next destination on our road trip was Huntington Beach, where we stayed at the super cool and modern Pasea Hotel. We kicked off with a surf lesson which was such great fun with all the girls and our instructors. Although cold, it was definitely worth it. That evening, we had the most beautiful sunset, and s’mores on the beach. What’s not to love!
Next on the map was Santa Barbara, where we stayed at the uber luxurious Four Seasons. The hotel and the area itself are both stunning and glamorous. The hotel gardens were heaving with plants and flowers, and everywhere I looked something caught my eye. We took advantage of the sun and had a group catamaran trip which was such fun and a great way to see the area and the beautiful scenery.
Our final destination was the Parker hotel in Palm Springs which is an interior design dream from start to finish. The hotel is more incredible than words. The artwork is modern and fun, and I could happily live there for life! We explored the area, went shopping, and even went on a tour of all the famous Modernist houses.
I couldn’t resist getting this cute picture with the girls spelling out ‘LOVE’, because that’s just how much I adored the trip!
